A Letter from your Chairlady

I hope you are all enjoying the summer despite the mixed and often unpredictable weather.

Twickenham Twins Club held its AGM on the 23rd July and I’m delighted to now be able to introduce to you your new committee.

We will feature each of them in our newsletters over the coming months so you get to know them better.

  • Chair – Jo Humphreys (nee Cohen)
  • Treasurer and Secretary – Jo Cowling
  • Social Secretary (Big Events) – Annie Fitzgerald
  • Social Secretary (Small Events) – Nilou Kaviani
  • Bumps & Babies Host – Jen Singer
  • Newsletter Editor – Clare Brown
  • Website Editor – Position Vacant – do contact us if this is something you could help with

My first task as Chair is to give huge thanks to those who are stepping down. Petra, Irene, Nora, Julie, and Lowri did wonderful work over the last two years building up the club and providing plenty of choice of activities for both the children and adults. All of their children will be starting school in September and we wish them all well with this new and exciting chapter of their lives.

It’s with great trepidation that I pick up the baton and I hope that I do as good a job as my predecessors. I’ve set myself some goals that I’d like to achieve during my tenure as Chair.

Firstly and most importantly I want to maintain and continue the activities previously offered. However I would nowlike to encourage more of you to participate in what we offer. We have a very healthy number of people in our Facebook Group and on our mailing list but these numbers are not necessarily replicated at our events or in our membership numbers. There are many of you I’ve yet to meet and I really hope that 2015/2016 is the year I get to know you.

Secondly I want to try and start doing more for those pregnant with twins/triplets & more. You are of course the future of the club, and often, as you are still working, daytime bumps and babies sessions are not always convenient. My idea is to have an evening once a month where you can meet those due at a similar time to yourselves and invite along guest parents whose babies have arrived to come along to answer any questions you might have about birth plans, buggy choices etc. Our first evening will be the 9th September 2015.

Starting in September 2105 we have an exciting choice of activities and events and full details of what is on offer is on our website. I would urge as many of you as possible to join this year. We are delighted to have managed to keep the cost at £22 per family for the whole year with an early booking offer of £20 for those who join prior to the14th September.  Membership gives you discounts on everything we offer as well as priority booking on events where numbers are limited and always sell out such as our very popular pamper night.

Enjoy the remainder of the summer and I look forward to sharing with you an exciting year of the Twickenham Twins Club.

Jo
